Blake Lively Goes Savage!

06 Apr

Oh yeah, it’s that time of the year where summer movies are on the horizon, but it’s those late summer/early fall movies who get overshadowed by the Blockbusters of early to mid summer. Does that make sense? This is an ongoing process that happens every single summer, but it’s up to those late summer movies to prove that they have the legs to compete with the big boys. In the next few months we’ll finally have the Avengers, a brand new Batman and Spiderman films, and no to mention anothert Men in Black and a Bourne add on. One trailer has recently caught my eye, and I’m embarassed to say that I’m not quite sure how I feel about it.

The film is called “Savages” and stars Blake Lively, Aaron Johnson, Taylor Kitsch, Salma Hayek, Benicio Del Toro, Demián Bichir (fresh off his Oscar Nom) and John Travolta. From the trailer alone, I am yet again not sold on Blake Lively’s talent. She constantly seems like she tries too hard and gets outdone by her co stars. I am a HUGE Aaron Johnson fan and he looks phenomenal in this film. If you haven’t heard of or seen an Aaron Johnson film, check out “Nowhere Boy” ASAP!

“Savages” tells the tale of a pair of drug dealers (Johnson & Kitsch) who run what seems to be a medicinal marijuana facility. When a drug cartel wants to sell their product, the pair of dealers just say no! That’s when their shared girlfriend (Lively) gets kidnapped. It looks to be filled with action and a very interesting plot. Check out the trailer below and let me know what you think! Oh and did I mention this is directed by Oliver Stone? Yeah, check it out.
